Update!

I haven't blogged in a while because I spent last week healing my body from the infection I got the last time I blogged. Apparently, our former helper (she's gone now) was very sick already and did not even bother telling me so I would stop asking her to clean the water containers I drink on and asking her to refill it with water every day. I thank God that we were able to diagnose what I had then ASAP so it didn't get worse.

After continuous antibiotics and paracetamol for a week, I felt better. I stopped myself from wanting to clean the house so I could get better as soon as possible. I was really looking forward to our birthing class which started last Sunday in Ateneo, and it would suck if I was still sick. I don't want to hawa other Mommies! We learned about the Child Birth class from my OBGYN. She recommends her patients and their couples to attend them so that both Mom and Dad are prepared for labor and all.

My Second Colds, Cough & Sore Throat Episode

My colds started 3 days ago that eventually turned into stuffy nose + sore throat. I don't know whether it was from cleaning the house or I got it from our household help. She has been, apparently, sick all this time with colds and she's been cleaning my water containers and putting water in them and placing them in our fridge at the second floor. I really think I got it from her. I don't get sick from cleaning the house. Ever.

Sunday was spent with Osc's family at Makati. We schedule to attend service at Victory Fort at night so the kids and his Mom can get more things done during the day. My throat felt like it had to be rested for a week. No talking, no eating, no breathing. Breathing makes it dry, thus making it painful for me to swallow, thus making it even more harder to talk. I swear, if I didn't need to talk or if Osc wasn't living with me, I wouldn't talk until my sore throat is gone.

Anyway, I felt relief when my wonderful MIL cooked sopas. The hot soup made my throat calm down for a bit, but after a few minutes, pain returned with rage. I decided I couldn't take anymore of the pain. Trying to soothe it with warm water with salt doesn't entirely work because it always comes back. I was convinced that I had an infection because if it was just a regular cough or something, I'd be able to handle it. Add to that, being pregnant and all, I didn't want it to turn into a fever or something worse because I didn't want to get confined again. I promised myself the next time I would get confined is when I go into labor. READ MORE AFTER THE JUMP!

Book Sale!

Just got home from SM with my DH. I told him I wanted to eat some Bistek Tagalog from Goldilocks for dinner. I had two rice with that pa! Takaaaaaw! I also bought two Caramel Popcorns to take home (one I ate in the car while going home. tee-hee! ;p). After eating, I dragged him to the Book Sale store to buy some books for baby. I read online that you can already stimulate learning and bonding with your baby as early as now and some stories of Moms who read to their baby while still in the utero and found that when the same books are read to them when they're fussy, they actually calm down.

I'll do anything to bond with my child and also teach him to get used to speaking and listening in English so I bought a couple of books. Book Sale is awesome, by the way. Not only do you get used but in great condition books, they come amazingly affordable too. Of course, my heart is still set on buying him brand new book collections, most especially books by Dr. Seuss. I grew up reading them. I can honestly say I learned to speak, write, and understand English because of his books even before I was enrolled to school. My favorite book is The Cat in the Hat.

Anyway, I got him:

Disney's Toy Story (P70)
It's Not Easy Being Big (Big Bird and Elmo from Dr. Seuss' Bright & Early Books)(P120)
My Nursery Rhymes (P25)
Sesame Street: The Police Station (Elmo)(P35)
Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown (P85)

Will start reading to him tonight. If only I could get Osc to read to him too. He's saying there's plenty of time for him to do it when baby comes out. He'll see!

Sleep!

Ever since getting pregnant, I've been wanting more space on the bed. Even before I was expecting I wanted to be able to spread my arms and legs on the bed, but this time I think it doubled/tripled. Osc and I have been sleeping on a full size bed since getting married. I didn't want to buy a new mattress yet since we were moving back home from our condo in Greenhills.

Here at home, my bed is also a full-sized one so I asked Mom to gift us a king-sized bed for Christmas last year. I told her that Osc and I were pushing each other (well, more on me pushing him! LOL.) when sleeping and I was getting uncomfortable already with my baby bump growing fast.

So come January, we finally ordered a new bed from Salem directly from their factory here in Valenzuela. We got the Ditta spring mattress in blue. It was priced at P17,000+, we got it for P14,500 I think. The king mattress is on a made-to-order basis at their factory so we had to wait for 7 days until it gets delivered (for free!) at our house. It was worth the wait! READ MORE AFTER THE JUMP!
