Happy Birthday, Mommy Roxi!
I apologize for the long break from blogging. I just had a lot on my plate the past week I got busy, then a typhoon came we didn't have electricity for 2 days and flood outside was waist high, so blogging took a back seat for a while. I haven't been able to work as much as well because of some things that had to be settled. Anyway, I'm back! So this is what happened on my wonderful birthday weekend!

Blowing out the candle
After all the stress from everything else, my birthday weekend finally came and we decided to just celebrate with our little family and a few close friends. I got us a room at the Holiday Inn Galleria Manila for an overnight stay. It's my go-to hotel because it is conveniently located in Ortigas, connected to Robinson's Galleria and very near SM Megamall. READ MORE AFTER THE JUMP!

Our Birth Story Pt. 2
CONTINUED FROM Part 1

Getting prepped for the C-Section
I got some rest and fell asleep until 3-something PM. I would drift in and out of sleep. Gosh, that drug was amazing. I would wake up when a doctor would do an IE, then fall back to sleep. Around that time during an IE, the doctor was surprised to find out that I am fully dilated, but still in -1 station. I guess all I needed was to let my body relax so I could dilate! She also felt my bag of waters already bulging, but a few wiggles inside, my water broke naturally. My gosh it felt like a faucet was opened! They immediately changed my sheets after that. My OB-GYN said that we'll wait an hour for my baby to descend some more. I said I wanted to stand up so I could help him. They laughed and then I realized I got an epidural so that was not possible. I asked for a few ice chips to suck on as I was very very thirsty. After that I fell back to sleep.

During the procedure. Osc is hiding from a corner. Scared. LOL.
Waking up an hour later, Jacob was still in -1 position. My doctor then gathered her team and asked me to do some practice pushes. I did and she said he was still not going down. They moved me to the delivery room to see if it will get better there with the leg support thing. After a few pushes, she felt that he was moving out but then moving back as I relax. That's when she decided to do a C-Section on me. READ MORE AFTER THE JUMP!

| A very pregnant me at my 40th week! |
Before going to the delivery room of St. Luke's, I had dinner first with Oscar and Mom. I only had a hotdog sandwich. I didn't want to be full because I've read stories of Moms in labor who threw up everything they ate. READ MORE AFTER THE JUMP!

9 Years and Counting...
![]() |
| Something I made last 2009 |
Since it's a work day, we can't really go out and celebrate. Plus with the little one here, I don't think we can do more than just dinner outside. Instead, I bought ice cream for us to enjoy. After 9 years, I think you run out of things to do, especially with gifts to give to each other since you give one every 'monthsary' before) unless you're an adventure type of couple (then you'll have an endless list of activities). I use to make a big deal about 'monthsaries' and anniversaries that I honestly have ran out of ideas! If I do come up with something, I'll save it for our wedding anniversary. :-)
It's going to be an activity-filled month of September! Coming up this weekend is a little get-together with my college buddies so they could meet Jacob. Next week is my birthday (hooray!). The next week will probably be Chowder's day out with us so he can get his vaccinations done already.
Another important event this month is our little family's interview for visas. I am praying really hard that we get one so we could spend the holidays with my family this year and so they could also meet Jacob! I'm really crossing my fingers and everything. I would trade whatever I own so our family could be with the rest of my family this Christmas. :sigh:
I have a huge line up of blog entries to put up so please do wait for them! :-)
