I didn't expect to last this long with breastfeeding Jacob. He's already 1 year and 2 months old last July and he has only partially weaned from breastfeeding. If I offered him the breast more than him receiving a bottle of milk, he'd probably be still breastfeeding full-time together with eating his solids. READ MORE AFTER THE BREAK!
I still love breastfeeding and I firmly believe that even if we're not breastfeeding that often or that exclusively anymore, he still gets the wonderful benefits that comes from breast milk. Together with my husband and Mom, we have seen how breast milk and breastfeeding has benefited Jacob throughout his 14 months to date.

I'll be posting more about breastfeeding in the next couple of days to celebrate Breastfeeding Awareness Month! It's the best gift I have given to my son!

MOMMY QUESTION OF THE DAY
How long did you breastfeed your baby/babies?

Yay for breastfeeding! You will make exactly the amount of milk that he needs...that's the really cool part about it. You are completely connected in that way.
ReplyDeleteHurrah, I love your post. I was recently at an amusement park w/the kids and there was a woman breastfeeding but she had this huge, gorgeous orange cover sheet that you could tell was made specifically for the task. I stole a look a couple of times to see the cover, thinking it would be a great itme to blog about, hah! But I saw her catch me the second time and you could tell she felt uncomfortable, like...why was I looking at her. Of course I couldn't explain without sounding dumb, lol, so...I didn't look back or invade her privacy by attempting a conversation. But it did leave me thinking we've come a long way w/public breastfeeding, and I'm glad.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on breast feeding for so long! I breast fed my twins for 5 1/2 months.

Still breastfeeding my 13 month old boy at night. But during the day I give him whole milk in a sippy cup. No more bottles for him. Congratulations and keep it up!
