Fun at Kidsville

I've been really excited to share to you this wonderful place we discovered last month. If you grew up in Manila in the 90s, you'll probably have memories of going to Kids at Work or Kids Station. They're similar to Chuck E. Cheese's! You get to play in their active gym or the pretend village. And I found one for Jacob to enjoy!

Kidsville is located at the 4th floor of The Podium Mall in Ortigas Center. Yes, it's pretty far from our place, an hour and a half away but it's worth the travel! The only time we can go is when Daddy Oscar goes to his Jiu Jitsu training. While we wait for him, we enjoy ourselves at Kidsville! Yes, I said us. Lol. Because I also join Jacob inside and I have so much fun too! I feel like we may be going there more for me because I love their pretend village! But Jacob enjoys himself so much riding the Little Tikes cars, especially the Cozy Coupe Police Car version.

The first time we went, we weren't prepared so we had to buy socks. Kidsville sells socks for toddlers, kids and adults so if you find yourself not having any, don't worry about it. Each pair is sold at P30.00 on any size. In my opinion, bringing Jacob to Kidsville in Podium is a better value for money than sending him to Gymboree to play there. Although Gymboree offers awesome playschool classes, we haven't enrolled him into any yet because Dad doesn't want to and it's almost like sending him to preschool, unless you pick the shortest package they have.

Anyway, every time we go to Kidsville, we always head for the active gym first. Jacob just loooves the pool of balls! He squeals in delight when I make waves of balls coming towards him. Adorable!




After which we gather these foam balls and place them on this platform where high pressure air shoots them up in all directions and keeps some afloat.

He's just starting to love the slides. I haven't been on a slide in a long time so I enjoyed going up and down with him! It's a long way up!

Once we're all tired, we transfer to the pretend village. There's a Superman phone booth where kids can put on a cape and save the world!

There's Jojo's Garage where you can play on this vintage beetle car.

This is St. Noah's Hospital, where kids can be doctors and make your boo-boos much better!

Kids can enjoy building gigantic Lego like toys and carpentry at Tyler's Builders. I actually though Jacob would spend a lot of time there since he loves Legos, but see him just drive (or more like push!) pass it.

At The Country Barn, you'll find yourself surround with horses, pigs, sheep dogs, cows and chickens! You can gather dairy goods from the barn and send them off to the Village Shoppe.

I particularly love the Village Shoppe! Seriously, I feel like a kid again when I'm at Kidsville! Even back at Kids at Work, I always spent my time either at the pretend kitchen or at the market. The Village Shoppe at Kidsville is loaded I tell you! So many pretend food and grocery items! I'm embarrassed to say that the last time we were there, while Jacob was cruising in his car with his Nanny, I was fixing the grocery items on the shelves. LOL.

I teach Jacob how to do the grocery here by asking him to put certain fruits in his cart. He actually thought the corn cob was real, he was about to nibble on it!

Jacob doesn't appreciate Station 123 yet, as well as the Theater (which wasn't working anyway). There's also a photo studio next to the Village Shoppe, but there's nothing in there either.

There's a learning shop too with two computer that have video games for kids. But why let them stay there when they can be using their imagination around the Village.

If you feel like cooking and enjoying some pastries, head on over to Sweet Kei's Cafe. This shop can get very messy because of all the cooking utensils and the pastries being made!

For Moms (normal Moms, unlike me!) who are leaving their kids to enjoy themselves at Kidsville, they can wait right in the area and get some pampering done at Club Princess. It's supposedly a spa for the tots, but they also offer mani-pedi services to adults. So while you wait, you can relax and have some me time. Club Princess is right by the door and you can see your kids if they're in the learning shop or on the school bus.

I can't wait to go back! We've only been to Kidsville twice and we are in love with it already. The only thing I don't like about the location of Kidsville is that The Podium Mall doesn't have that much restaurants that are kid-family friendly. The first time we went,  we had to wait until we went to pick up Oscar to have dinner. And that's pretty late. The second time, we settled to eat at Burgoo. The Podium Mall is sort of a high-end mall, but there's really not much to do there. I wish Kidsville was located in Shangri-La instead or at Eastwood City where are there food choices for the kids and a lot of shops where the parents can go while the kids are at play.

I believe kids below 5 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The last time we were there I paid for 2 adults to go in so we can all have fun! I got Jacob an unlimited pass, so when it was time for dinner, we simply got our hands stamped, ate outside, and went back again. Oh, he was so tired that night he fell asleep even before we got out of the parking lot! See you soon at Kidsville! :)
