Hey everyone! I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. I've been busy at home, you can't imagine. I've been cleaning and organizing my Mom's room for the past couple of days so that when she gets back, she'll have a clean and comfortable home to return to.
I've discovered a TON of photos that were just in boxes and one big pile was just in a plastic bag. The horror! So yes, upon discovering this, I took a trip to the past and browsed through them. I even found a bunch of baby photos of me! All along I thought all my photos have been damaged by the floods before so I never bothered looking for them. Now I can make my own album to show Jacob when he's older. I even saw a few photos where we look so much like each other!
Anyway, I took the liberty of organizing them by grouping them into several categories such as: Family, Relatives, Mom w/ Friends, Kids (us) with Friends, Special Occasions, and (the funniest one) Random Scenic Photos.
I want to share this simple organizing idea to help you sort out and tidy up your photo collection if you've run out of albums like us. It's also a great activity for the family where you can all make use of spare arts and craft materials and reminisce at the same time. READ MORE AFTER THE JUMP!

Baby's First Trip: Los Angeles to Newark (Trip Report 2 of 4)
Here we go! Sorry for taking so long with this trip report saga.
Part 1 of 4: Manila to Los Angeles
Part 2 of 4: Los Angeles to Newark
Part 3 of 4: Newark to Detroit
Part 4 of 4: Detroit to Manila Part 1
Part 4 of 4: Detroit to Manila Part 2
Part 4 of 4: Detroit to Manila Part 3

Awful snapshot of LAX
After 7 fun and tiring days in California, we headed to the East Coast for some cold weather! We stayed for such a short time in LA because we had more family to visit in New Jersey.

Flying again, Mom?
Our flight was scheduled to leave 12 noon, so we were dropped off by my sister and niece at LAX around 8 o' clock in the morning. Going back, I don't remember us having breakfast before leaving the house. We should have eaten though, because I knew for a fact that we wouldn't be served any meal on-board the plane because it's only a domestic flight and a pretty short one from LAX to Cincinnati which is our layover going to Newark, around 5 hours if I'm not mistaken. Breastfeeding Tips from a Non-Breastfed Mommy

"Welcome to the Milk Mama Diaries Carnival (February). For this month, we focus on back to basics. Participants will share advices - either the best breastfeeding advice they received OR/AND the best breastfeeding advice they can give to new moms. Please scroll down to the end of the post to see the list of carnival entries."
Even before I got pregnant with Jacob, I knew for a fact that I would be breastfeeding. I wanted to, for both my baby and me.
You see, I am a menopause baby. My Mom gave birth to me when she was about 48 years old. I am the youngest of six children. I guess it was too much for her to still breastfeed me. She said she only got to breastfeed our eldest sister. I don't know if I even did a little but I know that I was formula fed. Look at me now, I'm not exactly looking healthy and I get sick a lot. Also she was working full time as a professional dentist. I don't think back then Mothers thought of bring breastpumps to work and having pumping breaks. Were there even breastpumps then?! She also told me that she had (sorry gentlemen, too much information coming) inverted nipples. I guess back then they were not informed or encouraged to keep on trying because it is still possible. Review: My Kid's Health App for iPad

Kind folks over at Pomelo Limited sent me their newest iPad App, My Kid's Health to check out and review. It's perfect for parents who are very organized (me, OC!) when it comes to their kid's health and lives.
My Kid's Health is the best way to record your child's health on the iPad.
Vaccination schedule, doctor/dentist appointments, growth & illness history, and more. Reminders sync with the iPad calendar. All through a beautiful, user-friendly interface. Developed by parents, for parents, to create the perfect tool for keeping track of your kid's health and development. No more looking for papers, it's all there on your iPad!
And it just truly is! All Moms and Dads are given baby books either at the hospital or at their baby's first month check-up. Obviously, it is your responsibility to keep track of your baby's vaccinations and check-ups. Parent or not, you would know what I'm talking about.
For me, I had like 3 baby books! Let me explain before you wonder why. During Jacob's first month check-up, I didn't bring him to his hospital/birth pediatrician reason being that it was far from home and I was still in a bit of pain (had a C-Section. Read our birth story PART 1 and PART 2 here!). So that being said, we got a baby book from her. Being a first time Mom, I actually got scared and nervous when she told me, "You have to keep track of these (while pointing at the list of vaccinations and age), okay? Don't forget! Memorize them!". In my head I was saying, "What?? Memorize them?!" There was a long list of really long vaccine names, etc. No way I could possibly remember them. So I just asked what we should get next. Universal Studios Hollywood
Seven days is actually very short for people who want to see the best of L.A. To top it off, majority of the time that we were there, our relatives were working. With only one weekend to spend, the day we arrived was Saturday, we went straight to Universal Studios Hollywood the next day.
My eldest sister and her family lives very close to Universal Studios. Just a short 15 minute drive without traffic according to MapQuest. They got us annual passes because at that time Universal Studios had an on-going promo. You can get a One-Day pass $15.00 off with a coupon. But without a coupon, an Annual Pass costs the same as a One-Day pass. We planned on returning on Thursday after my sister drops off the kids at school. But as fate would have it, we didn’t get to go back because we spent two wonderful days in Riverside, California. Read more after the jump!

Mommy Mondays: 8 Month Old Jacob
Hello! I haven't done Mommy Mondays in so long. Today isn't exactly a Mommy Monday because my lovely husband didn't go out on shop duty today so we both took turns with Jacob. We actually came up with a great schedule that allows the both of us to do work and at the same time spend time and take care of Jacob.
We kind of missed out on taking care of Jacob this morning because last night, around 2 'o clock in the morning, we were visited by a tiny rat. There is a freaking infestation here! Here we were thinking that they haven't gone in our room. I thought that was our safe haven. But no! There's been a tiny rat going in and out. I swear he is tiny, like it was still a baby rat. Anyway, Osc spent 30 minutes trying to catch/kill it. He did. I felt bad because I don't necessarily like doing that but the little pest went on Jacob's table so that pissed me off. I spent the whole time in our bathroom drowning out the noise that Osc was making by playing music on my phone. I didn't want to hear any of it! :(
Throughout the whole ordeal, Jacob was asleep! Did not even move or change position! Osc was making so much noise that I could still hear some of the banging outside. He did not even flinch. This child! My gosh! The scenario would make such a great post on 9gag.com! Yes, my soul has been taken. I am addicted to 9gag!
I headed out and bought those sticky paper things that catches rats/roaches/whatever. They already caught one downstairs. I had to ask our helper to clean/sanitize our room and downstairs because of these freaking pests. When my Mom gets home I hope we can get professional exterminators to help us with this problem.
Anyway! Let's talk about Jacob now!

Here's my little 8 month old cutie!
Jacob is 8 months and 13 days old! We don't really celebrate his birth monthsaries like some do because I don't really get why you have to. No judgement though. To each his own. Every day with him is a celebration so no need to bring out the cake and candles. Read more after the jump!

We're Alive!
We're finally home. We've been home for almost 3 weeks already. I just haven't gotten the chance to update even just a little bit because we are still settling down and Jacob got sick again. He has gotten sick 3 times in January, so we've had a crazy month! First one was his fever and sinus infection. Second was an allergic reaction to either his antibiotics or the type of banana he had. Both first and second happened during the day/night before we are schedule to leave! Seems like baby boy didn't want to go home!
Anyway, we're not sure if it has something to do with teething (He already has two out! :D), doctors say that teething does not trigger high fever, diarrhea, etc., but he had fever for 2 days. His highest temperature went to about 39.2 C which is about 102.5 F. He didn't have any other symptoms just really feverish. You wouldn't actually think he was sick because he was acting normal, very active.

Before he got terribly sick
He was on Ibuprofen or Infant's Advil when his temp was high. Then after day 2 it just suddenly went away! But we did still go to his doctor just to make sure everything is okay.
We figured his sinus infection came back because he didn't exactly finish his antibiotics because his doctor in New Jersey thought maybe his allergic reaction was because of the medicine. Turns out his throat is a bit red, a viral infection. No medicine was prescribed. It would usually go away on its own without any help. He was just started on extra vitamin C.
SO YEAH! That has been my month of January so far! I haven't even started telling you about our gruesome journey home where we were delayed TWICE, we arrived 12 HOURS LATE than scheduled. Great job, Delta! I will get on that later. We even stayed in Nagoya, Japan for a night!

This is Jacob and I laying down at Nagoya Airport during the delay!
Oh my gosh, I have a long list of posts and one give-away to do! I promise, promise, promise I will slowly get on it once a day when my little Jacob is dozing off. I hope you guys are still out there! It's just been very crazy.
Stay tuned!
P.S.
If you've noticed my layout has changed! I am cleaning up this baby and hopefully I can get someone, a web designer, to help me make a customized layout for Mr. Jacob's Mom! If you'd like to sponsor this make-over send me a message! :D
