I'm not much of a seafood fan, but I do enjoy good fish every now and then. But I don't like fish with bones. I know, they all have bones. LOL. So I preferably like fillet fish, either fried, sauteed in sauce. One of my favorite is making Fish Fillet in Lemon Butter Sauce so let me share you my simple recipe. You can grill or fry the fish as you wish, but more often than not, we fry it here.
Easy Fish Fillet in Lemon Butter Sauce Recipe
For the fish: I use Cream Dory or Pangasius.
Flour
Egg
Lemon
Salt and Pepper
For the sauce:
1/2 cup of butter
1/4 cup of drained capers (you may choose to have this or not, it tastes good either way)
3 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves (I use McCormick Thyme Leaves)
Salt and while pepper
Directions:
Slice fish fillet into small squares or according to your preferred size. Marinate the fish in lemon juice for 30 minutes to 1 hour. You actually add more lemon juice. I like add more than 3 tablespoon, I like the zest and citrus taste. First dip each piece in beaten egg in a bowl. Then coat with flour, season with salt and pepper. Fry fish in a shallow pan until golden brown. Drain excess oil on paper towel.
Heat butter in a separate pan until foamy. Add capers if you choose to have this and cook for 2 minutes. Add lemon juice and thyme. Season with salt and white pepper. Cooking time for me is just 5 minutes.
